i find this alarming since it happens to me twice. in fact, as i was writing this post in my fp2, it hanged. this is now a rewrite because i have to force restart the phone.
when i say "hang", it means there is no response from your phone totally.
this is what happened in my first experience:
as i was browsing fb. i received a notification that there is an app update. i clicked it, so the window was transfered to playstore. while upating, i returned to fb to continue browsing. suddenly, the phone hanged. i tried pressing the home button and the power, there is no response, the same with touch screen.
so i force restarted it. after getting back to home, i noticed that the same app is updating in my notification. so therefore, the update was not successful because the phone was frozen or " hanged".
so i ignored it and the update was then successful.
so as i continue writing this post, i experienced it again. so it seems that it was not related to the app update. (luckily there is a draft save in the forum, so i dont need to rewrite everything, AS YOU CAN SEE, I SAID TWICE ABOVE, BUT AFTER THIS, I STILL EXPERIENCE MORE)
after several minutes of waiting (maybe 2 or 3), the phone responded to those commands during it is freezing (power button, home etc). delayed in short since the phone is experiencing " hang" or frozen.
and i noticed the boost notifcation in the notifcation area, there is the icon but there is no text description. since the phone is responding again, i tried to click that boost notifcation without text details, but it just open the boost app. i thought it will do some task. and take note, the boost icon notification cant be removed.
i managed to screenshot the 1st boost notification but i lost it, reason below: (dont worry, i have a new notification screenshot)
so i decided to restore my phone to factory default. to atleast confirm that phone is not faulty. so i did proceed.
as usual, setup and the update stock apps. but then, i experience the freezing or "hang" again. after several minutes, it responded to to those commands i was doing while it was frozen like pressing the power button, home, volume, etc. i didnt try to force restart it. because the boost icon notif starts appearing again. i waited so i could take a screenshot. so here it is:
(please dont conclude that the vpn causes the freezing. i was using it ever since i bought this fp2 last june 13, the date of arrival. the freezing just occur today)
so after the phone responds, i ignored the freezing problem and continue using the phone.
my conclusion was maybe its because of the boost app, so i tried to turn its access off by going to settings>security>app with usage access, then i turned the boost off.
but unfortunately, i experienced the freezing or hanging for the last time. without any activity. just scrolling the app menu and settings to observe.
after 15 minutes or so(which is now), the problem somehow is not occuring. and i hope it never will.
based on my experience, it seems it cant be concluded. but my main eye is on the boost app. second is the playstore updates. and lastly, it still happens without any activity.
sorry for the grammar. if you want to clarify, please feel free to ask. i hope this is not a hardware issue.
i believe most of you heard that some users after the first batch release also experience hanging/freezing in their fp2. (most of them reported in the fp2 fb official group) and there are also users who are complaining about the boost notification that cannot be removed sometimes.
