Ok. In short, ON/OFF toggle of developer mode is not functional. thus, cant be disabled. Even though you turned the Developer Mode OFF, when you go back at developer settings, it reverts back to ON.
why i want it off? because I experience some unusual problem.
here, so you could reproduce the problem.
turn these options ON in developer mode:
*disable HW overlay
*force gpu rendering in 2d
now, use some apps like chrome or CoC. (to get accurate result, use COC game). you'll notice a little lag in graphics while scrolling.
so normally, the solution is to turn these 2 option OFF. which is actually turned off by default. (HW OVERLAY AND FORCE GPU RENDERING).
now after awhile, the unusual problem arise. while playing, COC, I experience some lags as if those 2 options are turned on. so to fix the lag, I have to re-toggle these 2 options ON and OFF. then the problem will be gone. but it happens every now and then.
so I thought disabling the developer mode will fix the problem. there then I discovered that the developer mode cant be disabled using the ON/OFF toggle of the developer mode.
so, for the meantime, until devs will fix this, here is a simple workaround:
go to settings>apps, then click 3dots at the top right, then show system. after that, look for "settings" app, then go to storage, and then clear data.
after that, go back again to settings>apps, then click 3dot top right, then "clear app preference".
the result will be:
*disabled developer mode and all its settings will be turned to stock/factory (in my opinion, because my settings in animations reverts to factory settings)
*developer mode will be hidden
now, i hope, this bug will be fixed. especially the unfunctional ON/OFF toggle of developer mode.
